Our teams on Neighbourhood Policing and Response had a busy day on Monday with shop theft offenders.
A suspect was charged with 12 offences related to a store in West Bridgford along with a racially aggravated public order offence committed against a Police Sergeant in Nottingham City Centre where our suspect was arrested after being detained following running away from officer taking part in Op Reclaim patrols. The suspect was dealt with at custody by the Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing team who secured a remand to court where he entered a guilty plea to the public order offence and 12 shop thefts and was sentenced to 55 weeks in prison as well as £187 compensation order.
Another suspect dealt with by Rushcliffe response for five shop theft offences has been charged to court on 3rd of December 2026.
A third suspect arrested by Rushcliffe response after being stopped by store staff has been charged to court also on the 3rd of December 2026 with one shop theft offence.
While carrying out patrols related to anti-social behaviour in Keyworth one of our Neighbourhood PCSOs investigated a vehicle left in suspicious circumstances which was found to have no vehicle excise licence and was removed under Op Cubit.
Tuesday saw officers from Rushcliffe Response and Neighbourhood Policing attend an unlit road near Orston where a horse and donkey had managed to escape a field adjacent to the road possibly after spotting the lush grass on the verge. Thanks to local people the owner of the field was contacted and with the help of a local resident and officer to return the two equine adventurers to a secure part of the field and identify their escape point to be repaired in daylight.
